The art work of Kerri Anne Healy must be considered in the context of her relationship with nature and majick. Kerri has always had an affinity with the natural forces that go beyond observation, replication and inspiration. Kerri has always been one of those unique souls for whom the separation is an illusion, the majick of life and art is a reality. What other way can one be when one has the sensitivity to interact in the deep universal processes of change as an orchestrator rather than an instrumentalist blithely following someone else's score.
Kerri entered the National Art School at the age of seventeen and was influenced by some great tutors under the guiding hands of Clem Millward, Martin Sharp and John Coburn, Kerri began to develop a distinctive style that would carry her through decades of
creativity, passion, and challenge.
In those early days the artist exhibited at galleries that have become part of Sydney art folk law notably the Yellow House Artist Collective. It was around this time that Kerri began studying and practicing Kabbalistic majick. The Qabala, with its roots in ancient Egypt held a deep and enduring fascination for Kerri. In 1973 after returning from the Aquarius Festival in Nimbin she began practicing the arcane rituals of the Qabala with a group called The Dawn of Ra. This was the catalyst that helped to alchemically forge her approach to painted subjects providing her with a comprehensive symbolic language that is expressed in her work to this day.
Through the work of ritual energy circles, colour and pyramid practices, auric and physical healing disciplines, Kerri explored the world and expressed on canvas her sense of compassion, empathy and beauty. In her figurative work Kerri's characters all seem to tell a deeper story, they are people that have truly lived and experienced an existence not unlike our own yet are imbued with an ethereal resonance a spiritual quality that speaks quietly to that more subtle aspect of mind we often forget. Kerri Anne Healy's work reminds us of this spiritual aspect in life. Plants and trees are alive and conscious participants rather than decorative foliage.
By the early 1980's Kerri was realising her dream building an idyllic property on the NSW North Coast with two beautiful children running around the permaculture gardens. She ran a small art gallery in Bellingen where her works sold briskly augmented by sculpture works in leather and ceramic. Her work appeared in many galleries on the North Coast at this time. Her work is always underpinned by that structural integrity that comes with a deep esoteric knowledge of universal principles and is often richly adorned with Kabbalistic symbolism, however it is a testament to her mastery that this is never illustrative allowing anyone to interpret her work on whatever level they so choose. Profoundly moved by the microcosmic cypher or flippantly delighted by coalescing colours the viewer is engaged, drawn in, welcomed until you may realise that you are part of the picture and this in turn is reflecting a greater reality.

"I surrender myself to the beauty of energies around me and interpret those emotions and visions as I receive them. I work in several mediums depending on what the piece calls for, this could be pen and ink, gouache, pencil, watercolour, chalk pastels or oils. I've been creating since I was 9 years old and as I grew into my work, I realised it is highly intuitive and spiritual" - Kerri Anne Healy
